Global digital payments giant Visa and AI-native financial infrastructure provider LianLian DigiTech have successfully executed the first live business-to-business (B2B) agentic transaction in Greater China. The transaction was processed using LoopXPay, an autonomous AI purchasing agent developed by LianLian. The milestone demonstrates how autonomous software agents can streamline commercial procurement workflows for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) by integrating product sourcing, supplier selection, and order execution directly with secure payment settlement inside a single, automated loop.
The initial live deployment targeted common operational friction points faced by SMB owners who lack dedicated procurement departments. During the transaction, the LoopXPay agent autonomously sourced a product sample from a supplier, evaluated competing market options, placed the purchase order, and cleared the payment within strict, pre-defined spending limits and corporate approval rules. When the AI software manages routine supply procurement, the system removes manual overhead while maintaining complete transaction transparency for finance managers.
To ensure safety and identity verification across agent-driven commercial interactions, LoopXPay has been registered in Visa’s Agentic Directory. Operating alongside Visa’s Trusted Agent Protocol, the directory functions as a verified registry that allows participating merchants and corporate issuers to authenticate non-human AI participants across the network. The framework verifies that active software agents meet standardised compliance, identity, and security criteria before approving programmatic capital transfers.
Building on the initial B2B transaction, Visa and LianLian plan to extend agentic capabilities across broader commercial workflows, including digital advertising management, automated inventory replenishment, and enterprise platform clearing. Darren Parslow, Global Head of Visa Commercial Solutions, stated that AI-driven commerce enables SMBs to simplify everyday commercial activities while maintaining required governance controls.
