Banks are increasingly investing in integration infrastructure as digital transformation efforts shift toward faster, more connected service delivery across core systems.
The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has partnered with Arcana Info Pvt Ltd to strengthen its digital infrastructure by implementing a new Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) platform designed to improve system integration and support faster digital services.
The agreement was signed during a ceremony held at NBP’s head office, attended by Shaikh Ausaf Ahmed, Acting Chief Technology Officer at NBP, and Aminul Hafeez, Chief Executive Officer of Arcana Info.
The new ESB platform will connect the bank’s core banking system with multiple applications, enabling secure, real-time transactions and improving system response times. The initiative forms part of NBP’s broader digital transformation strategy aimed at enhancing customer experience across its various banking channels.
Shaikh Ausaf Ahmed, Acting Chief Technology Officer at NBP, said the platform will strengthen the bank’s technology foundation while improving system stability and operational efficiency.
He noted that the ESB deployment supports the bank’s long-term strategy of building a secure, reliable, and future-ready technology environment capable of supporting evolving customer needs and industry demands.
The platform also introduces centralised monitoring and enhanced performance management, helping improve reliability while strengthening security and regulatory compliance. In addition, it enables secure data exchange between systems without the need for manual processes.
NBP said the upgrade will help accelerate the launch of new digital banking products and services while maintaining strong security and performance standards. By simplifying system integration and removing redundant connections, the platform is also expected to reduce operational complexity and deliver cost efficiencies.
Built with DevOps automation capabilities, the new system will allow smoother software updates and faster deployments, giving the bank’s technology teams greater agility to respond to changing market and customer requirements.
