As investment firms accelerate their shift toward AI-driven decision-making, the challenge is no longer access to data but the ability to unify and operationalise it at scale. Addepar’s launch of ADX signals a growing industry move towards building centralised, governed data layers that can support complex workflows and power enterprise-grade AI, turning fragmented data environments into a strategic asset.
Addepar, a global investment data and AI platform, has announced the launch of Addepar Data Exchange (ADX). This managed data environment is designed to help investment firms unify, govern, and activate fragmented data to power complex workflows and artificial intelligence at scale. By synchronising data across multi-system environments into a consistent, permissioned layer, ADX allows firms to maintain a shared source of truth while integrating with existing infrastructure.
The launch of ADX follows a multi-year investment by Addepar to re-architect its data infrastructure, which currently manages more than $9 trillion in assets. Built using Databricks, this foundation is now extended to clients, reducing the need for firms to develop and maintain their own complex data pipelines.
Key capabilities enabled by the ADX environment include:
- Workflow Activation: Activating data holistically across formerly siloed departments.
- Advanced Applications: Supporting proposal generation, asset allocation modelling, and reconciliation.
- AI Readiness: Providing the structured, high-quality data foundation essential for AI to operate effectively within an enterprise.
ADX serves as the cornerstone of Addison, Addepar’s native AI experience. With access to unified datasets, Addison can deliver context-rich, traceable outputs grounded in a comprehensive view of a firm’s business. Furthermore, firms can extend Addison by integrating their own proprietary analytical models and logic to support tailored, agentic workflows.
Bob Pisani, CTO of Addepar, stated that ADX is fundamental to helping clients transform data into a strategic advantage, enabling AI to be deeply embedded across an organisation to drive operational leverage. As financial workflows become increasingly complex, Addepar positions ADX as a vertically integrated solution that helps firms compete with a consistent, connected data foundation.
What this means for the industry
- Data unification is becoming the foundation for scalable AI adoption across investment and wealth platforms
- Firms are moving away from building internal data pipelines toward managed, platform-based data environments
- AI success in financial services will increasingly depend on data quality, governance, and interoperability
- Investment platforms are evolving into vertically integrated ecosystems combining data, workflows, and AI capabilities
- Firms that fail to establish a single source of truth risk limiting the effectiveness of AI and advanced analytics
