Karnataka Bank Partners with Pine Labs to Expand Digital PoS Payment Services

Karnataka Bank has announced a strategic partnership with merchant commerce platform Pine Labs to expand Point-of-Sale (PoS) payment services for its retail and MSME customers. The collaboration is designed to strengthen the bank’s digital payments offering by providing businesses with access to modern PoS terminals capable of accepting a wide range of digital payment methods.

Through the partnership, Karnataka Bank customers will be able to deploy Pine Labs’ PoS infrastructure to accept card payments and other digital transactions more efficiently. The initiative reflects the increasing demand from merchants and small businesses for reliable payment acceptance tools as India continues its transition toward a more digital-first payments ecosystem.

Raghavendra S. Bhat, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Karnataka Bank, said the partnership supports the bank’s broader strategy of evolving into a technology-driven financial institution. He noted that Pine Labs’ payment infrastructure offers merchant-friendly solutions that play an important role in the rapidly expanding digital payments environment.

The bank expects the collaboration to make advanced payment acceptance technology more accessible to its merchant base, particularly within the retail and MSME segments. By enabling businesses to integrate modern PoS systems through the bank’s network, the partnership aims to improve transaction efficiency while supporting the wider adoption of digital payments across local markets.

Raja B. S., Chief Operating Officer at Karnataka Bank, added that the new PoS services will be available through the bank’s branch network nationwide. This allows the bank to provide merchants with access to next-generation payment acceptance solutions while continuing to support businesses adapting to evolving consumer payment preferences.

As digital payment adoption accelerates across India, banks are increasingly partnering with specialised payment technology providers to strengthen merchant infrastructure and expand acceptance networks. The Karnataka Bank–Pine Labs collaboration reflects this broader industry trend of combining traditional banking relationships with fintech-led payment innovation.
