First Abu Dhabi Bank is scaling its technology partnership with Temenos to modernise core banking and payments infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, signalling a deeper push into one of the region’s fastest-evolving financial markets. The move reflects a broader strategy to align with regulatory frameworks, strengthen governance and accelerate cloud-led transformation across Islamic banking operations.
Expanding core banking capabilities in KSA
First Abu Dhabi Bank will deploy Temenos Core Banking, Payments Hub and Data Hub on cloud infrastructure within the Kingdom. The rollout is designed to support scalable, Shari’ah-compliant services across retail, SME and corporate banking segments, while ensuring adherence to local regulatory standards.
The modernised platform will enable the bank to improve operational agility, enhance data-driven decision-making and deliver more responsive digital services to customers in Saudi Arabia.
Building on a long-term technology partnership
The expansion builds on a relationship that has spanned more than a decade. FAB already operates multi-entity deployments of Temenos Core Banking across 12 countries, making this latest engagement a continuation of an established technology strategy rather than a new vendor shift.
Temenos’ cloud-native architecture and its experience supporting Islamic banking institutions in the region were key factors behind the decision to extend the collaboration.
Supporting Vision 2030 and regulatory alignment
The initiative is closely aligned with Saudi Arabia’s financial sector transformation agenda under Vision 2030. By upgrading its core infrastructure, FAB is positioning itself to meet evolving regulatory expectations while strengthening internal controls and governance frameworks.
At the same time, the move enables faster rollout of new digital products and services tailored to the Kingdom’s growing demand for modern, compliant banking solutions.
