ASN Bank Partners with HCLTech to Accelerate Digital Transformation

ASN Bank is advancing its “Simplify and Grow” strategy through a strategic partnership with HCLTech, as it looks to modernise its IT landscape and streamline operations across its banking ecosystem.

ASN Bank has selected global technology company HCLTech as a strategic partner to support its ongoing digital transformation programme and enhance the overall customer experience.

The collaboration forms part of the bank’s “Simplify and Grow” strategy, which focuses on modernising and standardising its IT environment while creating a more agile and efficient technology architecture.

Under the partnership, HCLTech will manage and support ASN Bank’s enterprise applications while helping streamline IT services through a distributed delivery model. The initiative will also involve consolidating technology services and reducing the number of external vendors to simplify the bank’s operational ecosystem.

As part of the transformation programme, ASN Bank aims to create a future-ready organisation by aligning business processes, products, and underlying systems with its new strategic direction.

Michel Ruijterman, chief information officer at ASN Bank, said the partnership will play a key role in helping the bank streamline operations and modernise its technology landscape.

He noted that HCLTech’s experience in delivering scalable technology solutions for financial institutions will support the bank’s efforts to simplify its product portfolio and improve operational efficiency through greater automation and standardisation.

Based in the Netherlands, ASN Bank is one of the country’s largest retail banks, focusing primarily on services such as payments, savings, and mortgages. The bank serves more than three million customers through a combination of digital banking services and personal advisory support delivered via its nationwide branch network.

HCLTech, which operates in more than 60 countries, provides services spanning artificial intelligence, cloud computing, digital engineering, and enterprise software solutions. The company reported consolidated revenues of approximately $14.2 billion for the twelve months ending September 2025.

Sudip Lahiri, executive vice president and head of financial services for Europe at HCLTech, said the partnership will combine the company’s engineering-led approach with ASN Bank’s strategic objectives to drive long-term operational improvements.

He added that working with ASN Bank represents an important milestone for HCLTech as it expands its presence in the Dutch banking sector.
